There's a reason why our patterns are so popular. It's because there's really nothing quite like a Londonberries pattern! Nobody makes them the way we do, which is why we've earned the trust and dedicated patronage of so many seamstresses and costumers.
The process begins with painstaking draping of the costume. We test the fit with the doll in different positions, and worry about every little detail, so you don't have to! As we work through the construction plan, careful attention is paid to fine finishing, both inside and out, that adds so much to the beauty of a well-made costume. Every bodice is lined (with the exception of lingerie and pajamas, of course!) and seams are always finished neatly or enclosed. You're never left to wonder, "what happens to this raw edge?" We don't publish it until it's absolutely right, to the very last stitch.
To be sure all this work doesn't go to waste, our designs are carefully hand drawn (no CAD!)which is the only way to maintain subtle fit details. Each design is then scanned into computer files for safe keeping.
The instructions are also written with great care, in a detailed, step by step fashion with full color photographs of nearly every step of the construction process. This helps eliminate any confusion, and adds to your confidence as you work your way through. In fact, our instructions are so clear you could almost learn to sew from them!
Finally, the pattern is printed directly from the computer (not photocopied) onto high quality paper and carefully packaged in its own individual envelope with a color photo of the finished garment on the outside.
